Thanks so much for coming to our site to check out our music. We're currently in the process of designing a new website, so far its looking great,it's going to be very interactive giving our fans a chance to communicate to us directly on the site. We're really excited to get it out to you within the next couple of weeks so keep checking back.

POLARITY: The presence or manifestation of two opposite or contrasting principles or tendencies. This definition reflects our new EP released in July of 2011. We embrace duality finding inspiration in the uncharted territories and often frightening truths of self found in the human psyche. With the new release we ask patience from our listeners. Our songs allow you a moment to breath and linger in a state of melodic limbo, listen for harmonizing guitars and painfully insecure lyrics. Once you're comfortable and before you know it you'll find senses exploding with pounding rhythm, powerful rifts and strong yet vulnerable melodies.
We formed in December of 2008 and released our debut album in October of 2009. Global Entertainment magazine has described our first release as going 'basement gold'. We've proudly sold over 2000 copies independently. 2010 saw us touring for the first time to the East Coast of Canada, and in the three and a half years since our bands birth we've played over one hundred shows in and around the GTA and have loved every stage and audience in the process. (Check out our list of past shows...it's pretty rad)
Like most unsigned bands we manage all aspects of our band independently and continue to do so. Our more recent accomplishments include a sold out show at Toronto's Tattoo Rock Parlour for our EP's release, playing in the heart of Toronto at Younge and Dundas for Youthday and helping raise over $11,000 for breast cancer while playing to an audience of over six hundred people. In the upcoming months you'll find us in our van touring the country exposing Canadian audiences to our progressive style

With our new album out, we here at Polarity HQ think it's about damn time that our music made its way to the airwaves. Even in this digital age, getting airplay on a Toronto radio station is still worth its weight in gold. 102.1 The Edge hosts an "Indie Band of the month" on their Indie Online section of their website. Polarity has decided to call on all of YOU our fans to help push 102.1 to make us the band of the month. All we need are enough votes to beat out the other bands. You can vote here: HERE and you can all vote once a day. Even after voting, sending e-mails and phone calls to 102.1 The Edge requesting POLARITY will still help make a difference. After some intense hibernation, hearty breakfasts, tons of coffee, washing behind our ears and watching the playoffs, Polarity is announcing the release of our new EP for July 8th 2011! We hope everyone will join us at the Tattoo Rock Parlour in downtown Toronto to celebrate this momentous occasion with a free show! We have some nice treats for our fans, and our concert season is slowly filling up. Polarity fans should have lots to look forward to this year. You might notice the lack of upcoming shows, well, there is a good reason. We have officially retreated to the basement, armed with 8 Microphones and a DI, we have begun to create what will be the foundation for the next release. We've been working on some of these tracks since before the last album was even recorded, so needless to say, we are very excited for whats in the works.

New shows are in the works for December, and one of them is a sure bet for an amazing time. A end of year KEGGER party at Polarity's house here in Missisauga.
Now whats even bigger, is that the lucky people attending will be able to witness the very first preformance of Captin Crossfade and the Punch-Ins!
Next on the list of reasons why you should be in attendance, is the dual kegs that we are supporting due to demand from the last kegger we held. (which included amazing music, awesome friends, and hot women making out with each other last time)
Now, I know you are all waiting with great patience for Polarity's first release, and I can say from sitting in the studio listening to it, that its going to amaze and marvel you, it will tickle your senses and leave you begging for more... the only way to get more of course to catch us live.
Which brings me back to the shows, right now we are crossing the T's and dotting the I's and arranging a lineup of shows for next month, so stay tuned!

The entire weekend felt totally surreal and the end result is out of this world! Thank you to Steve and Jay and Chris at DNA studio’s who made us feel at home in their world renowned multi million dollar studio, and trust me, we made ourselves at home in the band lounge! Tom kicked some serious drums over the weekend and we have many pictures and video of the entire weekend we will be posting shortly…You won’t see a picture without all of us giving toothy grins…it was that kind of weekend!

Next week, we are heading into one of the BEST studios in canada, to record Tom's amazing skill and flow. Those drum tracks will lay the foundation to our all out 8 track recording.
Its going to be all out, and we have alot of VERY special things in the works for you. To say the least, you will want to stay on the edge of your chair, because I'm going to be releasing videos from over 3 shows, that have NEVER BEEN SEEN BEFORE!!!
Soon on the site you will be able to have a personal inside view of the recording as we make it, but to get the inside super cool stuff, were starting the Polarity Members area next week, with special contests, video and recordings, for members only!.. so stay tuned.. and keep rocking out!

Since the site launched, someone were camping polarityMusic.com domain with some garbage, but they finally let it expire! So now we just need to hope that one day polarity.ca's camper will give up on that domain!
In the meantime we here at the polarity camp are getting super pumped about our new album.Its Super Toasty.

Time to dust off the cobwebs on this site! It’s been a busy summer for us!! We would like to thank all the drummers that came out to play with us, it was great jamming with so many different styles! We are also happy to announce we found a new drummer, aka the wonder kid, he formally goes by the name of TOM! He’s with us to do our album, and possibly conquer the world! ALSO we have a show this Friday!! YAY!!!!!!! SOOO pumped!!! If you have been going into Polarity withdrawal then now is the time to get your fix, and check out our new kicks!

Just got word from the promoter the venue forced them to postpone the show to the next day and we're unable to do that date...also its one week notice rite? :(...but dont worry we're most likely trying to setup a house party show on Friday so we'll keep you informed. The few that compose Polarity formed in the beginning of 2008. Polarity can be described as a catalyst of personal and societal observation. Their name is as much a reflection of a universal truth, as is a reflection of their sound. They seamlessly blend together opposing sounds with juxtaposing concepts. Polarity writes music as a progression of linear noise that flows together for a transformational experience tortured aspects of the soul find release in. Polarity is the epitome of an 'Indie' band, creating a buzz amongst the scene for their high energy live show. Financing their own album and merchandise as well as working with independent producers has allowed them to progress quickly . They have just released their self-titled debut album and are currently out to promote its release. Their future plans include making many more albums and rocking the world.
